1. Pack tampons! You can’t get tampons in Bali, only Tampax… And if you go to Lombok, there isn’t even Tampax available for purchase.

2. If you go into a spa for a mani or a massage you will be asked to take your shoes off at the entrance. Learn from my mistake and put them in your bag and take them in with you. I came out from my massage and my shoes had been stolen. Shoeless on the streets of Bali is not ideal.

3. Take plenty of hair ties. Another thing you won’t just be able to pick up at the corner shop. I only had one hair tie and I managed to loose it. The only replacement I could get was a purple scrunchy. Ew!

4. In your carry-on bags always pack the essentials. On several occasions I’ve arrived at my holiday destination and my checked baggage hasn’t. I always pack swimmers, denim shorts, thongs, a toothbrush and tinted moisturiser in my carry-on. That’s all you’ll ever need at the beach.

5. Wear sunscreen… 50+ at that!

P.S Be careful around those cute little monkeys. At Uluwatu Temple, i’ve seem them snatch a necklace right off a girl’s neck and at The Monkey Forrest at Ubud, i’ve seen them bite a child who wasn’t quick enough to hand over a banana.
